Yes, at Plush Baby we are all going ‘aawww’ at our new Petticoats in stock now…..little girls LOVE dressing up in these whimsical and beautiful creations and of course we love to see them looking ‘oh so cute’ – although as a Mum of 3 boys I haven’t had the chance to do this..yet, my 3 year old would probably love to try one on….just not sure if hubby would be so keen!

Solution for Your Growing Tummy!

Feeling and watching your tummy grow is an experience that is hard to describe but one that filled me with amazement (and maybe a little bit of fear as it continued to grow…and grow…and grow!) when I was pregnant with my first boy – 2 more were to follow – again to my amazement, especially as during my ‘little girl’ daydreams when I would imagine my ‘grown up’ life with my Prince Charming (did pretty well in that area!) and children it was always a little girl in the picture! And here I am with 3 larger than life, noisy, scruffy, mud wearing little boys! (Note: I wouldn’t have it any other way but it has taken some adjusting!)

Anyway, I digress! First time round, as my tummy grew which to be fair it did a lot slower and not quite as large as with No.2 and No.3 because by then your muscles are pretty shot and your body must literally say to yourself….here we go again, time to EXPAND! – I just brought larger clothes, some fairly pricey maternity pants and even tried the trusty ‘safety pin’ – note: not so ‘safety’ when it springs open and makes a nice firm jab in your growing bump!

So it was with great excitement I came across a very simple but completely clever – belly band. A piece of material with elastic (important that like our Plush Baby bands the elastic is wide and soft) at the top to ensure a comfortable fit that fits over your belly, under your tops and over your pants/skirts. No more need to worry if your tops are too short and are going to ride up exposing your belly (if you aren’t comfortable with that look) or your ‘bicycle stand’ is going to be on show from behind as you bend to tie your shoes!

At Plush Baby we have belly bands made out of gorgeous New Zealand merino with a touch of lycra to make it fit perfectly. They come in three different sizes and a range of colours that are suitable for winter or summer. Congratulations – I figure you must be pregnant if you are searching for maternity jeans!

After three pregnancies I know I spent most of my time in pants/jeans, not sure why, must have been the comfort factor, except that the maternity jeans I purchased were not so kind on my growing belly! Buttons that digged in, too low at the back so too scared to bend over in case people got more than they were expecting! So it would be typical that I start a business stocking maternity clothing after my boys are born but nevertheless I was still so excited to find some perfect fitting, flattering, comfortable jeans!

Sera phine is a UK based company who specialise purely in maternity fashion and have gone to great lengths to get the right fabrics, designs and fashions to complement the pregnant body and to maintain a fashionable (and sexy) look! Pale Wash

Seraphine’s latest release perfect for entering into Spring/Summer – a low waist, straight leg cut made in the softest denim with a stretchy waistband at the front to accommodate your growing bump!

Tip from Seraphine – if you want to follow the latest celeb trend of ripped trends, don’t be afraid to rip them on the thigh for an ‘oh so hot’ look…hmm not sure about you, but if I spent a reasonable amount on gorgeous jeans don’t think I want to be taking to them with the scissors but hey, each to their own!

The Skinny

No need to give up your favourite skinny jeans just because you are pregnant, as with all of the Seraphine jeans this style has a designer ‘bottom lifting’ cut that won’t sag or bag – excellent, every girl wants that, pregnant or not! Low waisted with an under-bump fit, front fastening zip and two discrete jersey panels at the side.

The Bootcut

Although never really out of fashion the boot cut is having a bit of a ‘fashion moment’ and this style suits most sizes and shapes and looks especially flattering on the pregnant shape. This style also has a stretchy band at the front which is especially soft on your belly and comes in a standard denim or dark indigo colour.
